Who the roster asks for

Every character page recommends three teammates. Read forwards, that is 27 separate bits of advice. Read backwards — counting how often each character is the one being recommended — it becomes a map of what Relink's endgame actually wants from a party.

Only 10 of the 28 characters appear in anyone's recommended team. The support slot is not a preference in this game — it is very nearly a fixed cast.

On nobody's shortlist

These 18 appear in no recommended team, which says almost nothing about how good they are — Relink recommends teammates by what they give a party, so damage dealers rarely get named. Half the tier list's top end is in this group. Read it as "brings their own damage", not "avoid".
